Four Woodson Kindergarten Center staff members will stretch their legs to combat breast cancer.

Julie Wanous, Karol Langemo, Lisa Bellrichard and Sarah Heller — the Pink Rack team —are planning to walk 60 miles in three days as part of the Susan G. Komen Walk for Breast Cancer in the Twin Cities on Aug. 22, 23 and 24.

Participants walk throughout the Twin Cities and camp in tents each night. The women will train for the walk this spring and summer.

They are asking the community to support the cause. Each walker is required to raise $2,300 each.

The group will be hold a Hy-Vee Wine Tasting on Thursday and a Pizza Ranch tip night on April 16 to raise money. Donations can be tax-deductible.

This will be Wanous’s fourth time walking, and the first time for Langemo, Bellrichard and Heller. Each participant has been effected somehow by the breast cancer, giving them a reason to walk.
