Police enter a home on the 800 block of Ninth Avenue Southwest with guns drawn Monday afternoon. Jason Schoonover/jason.schoonover@austindailyherald.com

Austin Police cordoned off a home at the 800 block of Ninth Avenue Southwest shortly before noon Monday for a reported shooting.

Police were called to the residence after a victim was reportedly shot and taken to the medical center for treatment.

Police have one person in custody and previously entered the residence with guns drawn. Officers also searched the backyard and several garbages in the alley behind the property.

Several officers later surrounded a group of young men at the Ankeny Mini Mart at 1205 Oakland Place SE, but it is not known if the incidents are related.
