Gary Jerome Houff, 69

Gary Jerome Houff, 69, passed away Sunday March 2, 2014, at his Kalispell residence of natural causes.
Gary was born Dec. 5, 1944, in Austin, Minn., the son of Chester and Alice (Kvam) Houff. Gary grew up in Austin graduating in 1963 from Austin High School. He joined the U.S. Army in 1964, and was an expert marksman in the rifle. After the military, Gary worked at Precision Sheet Metal in St. Paul, Minn., and did some landscaping work. After moving to Kalispell, Mont., he worked with underground sprinklers in Kalispell, and did landscaping for Eagle Bend Tree Service in Bigfork. In 1988, Gary married Norma J. Littlefield in St. Paul. They were married for 26 years. Gary enjoyed gardening, puzzles, reading books and being a practical joker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Thomas Houff and Alice Marie Houff. Gary is survived by his wife, Norma of Kalispell; sons Mathew, Wayne, and Tracy Houff of Austin; son Todd Houff of Eau Claire, Wis.; daughter Jodie Houff of Austin; sisters Debbie Fryer and husband of Winona, Minn.; Sandi Houff of Austin; brothers Tom, Joey, and Rickie Houff all of Austin. Many many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, too many to mention. Also many nieces and nephews.
