Donna Mae Arnold, 80, of Austin, Minn., died Monday, March 17, 2014, at her home. She was born March 18, 1933, in Long Prairie, Minn., to Olaf and Dorothy (Rasmussen) Hanson.

Donna graduated from Austin High School in 1952, where she held the honor of homecoming queen in her senior year. She worked for Austin Public Schools and the Austin Vo-Tech as a secretary, retiring in 1994. On Nov. 27, 1952, Donna married Robert Gene Arnold in Austin. Robert passed away in 1984. The couple raised five children. Donna loved life and loved getting together with her old friends from high school. In retirement, she enjoyed luncheons with retired secretaries. Her true joy was spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children Robin (Barry) Hanson of Ramsey, Minn.; Edward (Teresa) Arnold, Randy (Christine) Arnold, and Dean Arnold, all of Austin; son-in-law Craig Deyo of Faribault; eight grandchildren, Katy (Rob) Barrientos, Seth Arnold, Cara Hanson, Daniel Hanson, Robert Deyo, Becca Deyo (Andrew Morrow), Amber Arnold, and Aaron Arnold; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Jameson Barrientos; in-laws, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Olaf and Dorothy Hanson, her husband Robert Arnold, her daughter Catherine E. Deyo in July 2007, brothers and sisters Donald and Gordy Hanson, Irma Demartini, Pearl Mauer, Ellie Springborg and Shirley Himle.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014, at Crane Community Chapel with Rev. Dale Christiansen officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
