Women’s health care symposium is Saturday in Albert Lea

The sixth annual “Women’s Health Care Symposium” will be 8:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Feb. 22 at Wedgewood Cove, 2200 W. Ninth St., Albert Lea. Doors open at 8 a.m.

Speakers from Mayo Clinic Health System will talk about heart disease, women and depression, and the Mediterranean diet. Sandra Birchem, D.O., Cardiology; Ealena Callender, M.D., OB/GYN; Amy Pleimling, registered dietitian; and Emily Schmidt, registered dietitian, are all scheduled to present.

The symposium may be worth three contact hours and has been designed to meet the Minnesota Board of Nursing continuing education requirements. It is the responsibility of the participant to determine if this meets the criteria for continuing education for their profession.
