Richard J. Underdahl, 52, of Austin, Minn., died unexpectedly Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at his home.

He was born on Nov. 29, 1961, in Austin, to James R. and Leila M. (Doerhoffer) Underdahl. As a lifelong Austin area resident, Richard graduated from Austin High School in 1980, and went on to earn an Automotive Industrial Machining degree and a Truck Drivers degree at the Community College. Richard was currently employed by AB Taxi in Austin as a taxi driver. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and car restoration. He enjoying playing with his dog and loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Survivors include his spouse Cynthia Neumann of Austin, four children; Joseph (Anna Rauen) Underdahl of Austin, Jade (Elizabeth Raimann) Underdahl of Austin, Jillian (Travis Beyer) Underdahl of Waseca, Minn., and Joshua (Alyssa Williamson) Underdahl of Austin; three grandchildren, Taylor, Layla and Logan. One sister, Joyce (Steve Peterson) of Wabasha, Minn., a step brother, Tim Kuhl, a niece, Carmen Koch of Alma, Wis., and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Austin. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
