The Austin girls basketball team lost 71-54 at Rochester Mayo (11-11 overall, 8-6 Big Nine) Tuesday.

Austin (7-13 overall, 5-10 Big Nine) attempted just three throws in the loss as the Spartans went 28-for-33 from the free throw line.

“It was a real physical game,” Austin assistant coach Jeff Hovland said. “They had a lot of second chance points on offensive rebounds.”

Ruth Koang had 10 points for the Packers, Shayley Vesel and Alex Hansen each scored nine points and Merideth Fritz had eight points.
