The Hayfield boys basketball team struggled with its shooting in a 54-46 loss to Kasson-Mantorville (15-9 overall, 12-4 HVL) in Hayfield Friday.

The Vikings (18-5 overall, 11-4 HVL) shot 3-for-20 on 3-pointers and 5-for-12 on free throws in the loss.

Cole Kruger hit a 3-pointer to pull Hayfield within three with two minutes to go, but he missed a game-tying 3-pointer with a minute to go.

The Vikings now trail Byron by two games in the HVL Gold Division and Hayfield has just two conference games remaining.
