Mayo Clinic officials are bringing Destination Medical Center news to the area.
DMC representatives will discuss the initiative with area residents in LeRoy starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, in partnership with the LeRoy Economic Development Authority.
Destination Medical Center is set to transform the area around Rochester over the next 20 years as Mayo officials expect to bring at least 20,000 new jobs and about 40,000 people into Rochester, which means areas like Grand Meadow, LeRoy and even Austin could feel increased economic effects from the DMC surge.
A social hour will start at 6 p.m., followed by an informal forum featuring a presentation and discussion of DMC at 7 p.m. at the LeRoy Community Center, at 204 W. Main St. The event is free and open to the public.
