Austin senior Alec Anderson advanced to the finals in diving at the Class ‘A’ state preliminaries at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis Thursday.

Anderson, who is competing in his first state meet, is currently in 10th place out of 16 advancing divers with a total score of 224.20.

Brandon Pearson leads the field with a score of 274.50 and there are six divers with a score between 240 and 250.

Austin’s swimmers will compete in the prelims Friday at noon and the finals will be held Saturday at noon.
