The Austin boys hockey team lost 7-2 to Owatonna (12-8-2 overall, 11-4 Big Nine) in Riverside Arena Saturday.
The Packers (3-18-1 overall, 1-13 Big Nine) were out-shot 44-22. They pulled to within 4-2 in the second period on a goal by Blake Halsey, but they couldn’t get any closer.
“We had no momentum tonight and we just did not show up to play defense,” Austin head coach Erik LaRock said. “We looked like we were tired. We’re not going to win hockey games getting out shot two to one.”
Dan Larson had a goal and an assist for the Packers and Jason Stoulil and Trevor Stevens each had one assists. Connor Poczos had 38 saves.
