There’s a new executive director at Primrose Retirement Community in Austin.

Shannon Pacholl has helmed the senior community since mid-November and oversees all staff at Primrose.

“I’ve been in the business for many, many years, and I thought Primrose was the top of the line, the nicest place in town,” she said.

Pacholl has 17 years of nursing experience in longterm care and has eight years’ experience as an administrator at various assisted living communities in Austin. She was excited to take the job at Primrose because of its options in housing. Primrose has 40 independent living apartments and 24 assisted-living apartments, though independent apartment owners can also receive services as they age. For Pacholl, the opportunity to offer more than assisted-living housing was a draw.

“I liked the challenge of broadening our options,” she said.

She hopes to organize a few more events at Primrose in the coming weeks and months to get more people to see the location, on the southwest side of Austin at 1701 22nd Ave. SW.
