Jerome Roy Weber, 81, of Austin, Minn., died Jan. 21, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on July 31, 1932, in Stacyville, Iowa, to Albert and Rose (Adams) Weber. He was the youngest of four children growing up in Johnsburg, Minn., and later in Austin.

Jerry married Dorothy Gaul on March 15,1951, in Austin. To this union six children were born.

Jerry left with the National Guard in January 1951 to go to Camp Rucker, Ala. He served through December 1953.

After working as a truck driver at Armstrong Truck Lines, Jerry was mostly self-employed with repair shops and gas stations (Steer Truck Stop, D&J Cafe and garage). He enjoyed fishing, gardening and campground hosting at Scenic State Park in Big Fork, Minn., and Lac Qui Parle State Park in Watson, Minn. He and Dorothy then traveled to Texas and Arkansas in the winter.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy, of Austin; sons Larry (Cynthia) Weber, of Austin; Gary (Kathy) Weber, of Austin; Mike (Carol) Weber, of Austin; daughters Lana (Dennis) Prantner, of Austin, and Judy Jacobson, of California. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Joseph Lammers, of Adams; and Kenneth Gaul, of Ill.; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and son, Steven Weber.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25 at Bethlehem Free Methodist Church in Austin (next to Ellis Middle School). Visitation will be held at the church one hour before the service.

Memorials to the family are preferred.
