Jean Ann Fargusson (Gallaher), 64

Jean Ann Fargusson (Gallaher), 64, of Rose Creek, Minn., passed away suddenly on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Health System — Austin. Jean was born on April 25, 1949, to Dale and Alice (Lauritzen) Gallaher. She attended Austin High School and graduated in 1967. On Nov. 30, 1968, she married Tom Fargusson and together they had three children. Jean worked as a certified nursing assistant. She was a loving wife to Tom; they had just celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in November 2013. They loved time with their family. Jean enjoyed going to all of her grandchildren’s activities and could be heard cheering the loudest and proudest of them all. She cherished these moments with her loved ones above all. Jean and Tom loved their travels to visit family and friends out of state and rarely left each other’s side in the 45 years that they loved each other. She will be remembered for her great love of her family, her loving smile, big warming hugs, her genuine compassion and love for others, wonderful sense of humor, infectious laughter and her signature farewell, “Drive careful, wear your seatbelt and don’t forget to text or call when you get home.” And if you didn’t she’d let you know!

Jean is survived by her husband, Tom Fargusson; three children, Dea (Jeff) Pederson, of Lyle, Minn.; Gina (Marvin) Clark, of Austin, Minn.; Joshua Fargusson (Eliza Schell), of Chaska, Minn.; eight grandchildren, Alisson, Blake, Wyatt, and Wayde Pederson, Alexis Fargusson, Joseph, Steven, and Aubrie Clark; three siblings, Thomas (Joni) Gallaher, Susan (Mike) Van Hyfte, and Sally (Nick Zrucky) Gallaher, sisters-in-law Carol German, Alice (Rod) Bjork, Betty (Chuck) Worts and Bonnie (Wes) Graff;  her aunts, Lois Holmes, Casey Lakin, and Jean Lauritzen; her uncle Don (Martha) Gallaher; her loving canine companion Sophie; many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Dale Gallaher and Alice Gallaher, her mother and father-in-law Earl and Jeana Fargusson.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin with Rev. Jeffrey Forbes officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
