The Hayfield boys basketball team knocked off New Richland-Hearland-Ellendale-Geneva (9-2 overall) 73-66 in New Richland Saturday.

Cole Kruger had 21 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists for the Vikings (12-1 overall) and Jeremy Stuart added 18 points.

The Vikings led 39-24 at the half.

Girls fall to No. 1 NRHEG

The Hayfield girls basketball team lost 79-44 at No. 1 ranked NRHEG (9-0 overall) Saturday.

Hayfield (9-2 overall) was outscored 40-15 in the second half.

“We never got in a flow in the second half. Their defense dictated the pace and they totally outplayed us,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said.
