Austin boys hockey team falls to Faribault

The Austin boys hockey team lost 6-4 at Faribault (6-3-1 overall, 4-3 Big Nine) Saturday.
Austin (2-11-1 overall, 1-6 Big Nine) led 2-1 after Dan Larson and Alec Bawek scored first period goals and it trailed 4-3 heading into the third after Blake Halsey scored a second period goal.
“It was a good back and forth game,” Austin head coach Erik LaRock said. “We couldn’t stop their first line. Faribault scored all six of their goals with their top line. We’re frustrated, but we’re getting better.”
Austin’s Adam Maxfield scored a goal to make it 6-4 late in the game.
Connor Poczos had 28 saves for Austin, which had 23 shots on goal.
Halsey, Sam Bennett, Larson, Trevor Stevens and Kenny Ree had assists for Austin.
