Christmas in the County
The Mower County Historical Society will once again be holding its annual Christmas in the County on from 3 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 13 and 14 at the Mower County Historical Society.
Dec. 13
• The Presale bake sale will kick things off. The public will be able to purchase Chistmas cookies, lefse and more.
Dec. 14
•On Saturday will be the main body of Christmas in the County. Outdoor activities include sleigh and wagon rides around the fairgrounds. There will also be the opportunity to climb in the 1004 steam engine and even blow the train’s whistle. Families can spend time working on crafts together including making ornaments, decorating cookies and making pinecone bird-feeders. There will be food available and the bake sale will still be going.

People will be able to buy raffle tickets for the chance to win one of 19 prizes including a star-stretched quilt and matching pillows, gift certificates for complimentary rooms from the Holiday inn, $50 Visa gift card from Accentra Credit Union, a painting by Derk Hanson from the First State Bank of Minnesota, LeRoy and more. Tickets are $1 each. Raffle winners will be drawn at 6 p.m. on Saturday. They can be purchased at the historical society office or from volunteers. There will also be a silent auction with bids able to be placed Saturday until 6:45 p.m. —ADH
