The Austin wrestling team opened its season with a 65-3 loss to Albert Lea in Ove Berven Gym Thursday.
Kole Igou picked up Austin’s lone win with a 1-0 decision at 170 pounds.

“Igou wrestled a hard fought match. He did a nice job staying in good position, controlling his opponent and pushing the pace the whole six minutes,” Austin interim head coach Jer Osgood said.
The Packers (0-1 overall, 0-1 Big Nine) were pinned five times in the loss.
“We struggled against a tough, highly ranked Albert Lea team,” Osgood said. “We will return to the mat tomorrow and we will improve.”
