Packer boys beat Marshall with big second half effort

The Austin boys basketball team won a rematch of last year’s Class ‘AAA’ state semifinals when it knocked of Marshall 66-46 in Anoka-Ramsey Saturday.
The Packers (2-0 overall) trailed 12-5 early on and they were down 35-32 at the half, but they stepped up their game in the second frame. Austin held Marshall to just one field goal in the last 15 and half minutes of the game.
“In the second half we played much, much better on defense and we hit shots,” Austin head coach Kris Fadness said. “Our guard play was really good.”
Zach Wessels had 19 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals for the Packers, Bret Lukes scored
