The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for Mower County through noon Wednesday.

Widespread dense fog will affect the Austin area Wednesday morning due to a very cold airmass, with visibility predicted at less than a quarter of a mile in some areas.

The Mower County area could get some light snow as well on Wednesday, as NWS meteorologists are calling for about 1 inch of snow in the Austin area throughout the day. Wednesday will reach a high of 33 degrees before temperatures drop to 13 Wednesday night.
