The Hayfield girls basketball team opened its season with a 70-52 win over Zumbrota-Mazeppa (1-2 overall, 0-1 HVL) on the road Tuesday.

Dani Wagner poured in 23 points for the Vikings (1-0 overall, 1-0 HVL) and Jessie Foster had 19 points.
