Marvel Fair, 81, St. Paul

Funeral services for Marvel D. Fair, of St. Paul, formerly of Albert Lea, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. James Kassera will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Marvel died on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Summit Hill Senior Living in St. Paul where she had been living the past several months to be near family. She was 81.
She was born on Jan. 7, 1932, in Freeborn County, the daughter of Benjamin and Lela (Jackson) Thompson.
She married Roy D. Fair, on Jan. 21, 1949, at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.
Marvel cooked for Albert Lea School District 241 for 33 years before retiring.
She was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she had been involved with Ladies Aide for more than 40 years and also enjoyed quilting.
She loved to dance and listen to old-time music. Marvel’s life was focused on faith and family. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, sisters and extended family.
She will be greatly missed by her children Steve (Carol) Fair of Woodbury, Sandra Weidt (Tom Bauerkemper) of Newport and Wesley (Gail) Fair of Winona; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Dorothy Beighley and Harriet Heckes; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, in 1984; her parents; and her sister, Lorraine Trae.
