Letter to the Editor

On behalf of veterans of the Korean War of which I am one, I want to thank the Austin High School Music Department, its teachers and all the students who performed so well last Monday evening. Especially, I want to thank them for honoring veterans of the Korean War, sometimes referred to as the “Forgotten War.”

It has been 61 years ago this month that I was on a troop ship heading home and Monday was the first specific tribute to Korean veterans that I have ever known about or attended. It is good to realize there are still some people who remember and care! Thanks again, it meant a lot to me!
