Blue Devil men’s basketball team beats Northwestern JV

The Riverland Community College men’s basketball team rattled off its second straight win to start the season when it beat Northwestern JV 78-76 in the Minnesota West tournament in Worthington Saturday.
Guillermo DeDiego, who is from Milwaukee, Wis., had 18 points and four assists for the Blue Devils (2-0 overall) and Glenville-Emmons grad Andrew Lau added 28 points and five rebounds.
RCC trailed 13-0 to start the game, before it got things going.
“One of the main reasons for our success right now is Guillermo,” RCC head coach Scott Koneigs said. “He’s played extremely well and he’s been getting to the hoop and dishing the ball.”
Austin grad Goliath Oboyo had 12 points for RCC.
