Austin hospital to hold tree lighting ceremony

Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin is getting ready to celebrate the holiday season.

Mayo Clinic Health System’s hospice program is inviting area residents to the “Set Memories Aglow” tree lighting ceremony at 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8, in the medical center’s lobby, at 1000 First Dr. Northwest. The tree will remain lit through the holiday season.

Monetary donations toward a light on the special hospice tree in memory of a loved one, friend or for someone living you wish to honor are still being accepted. Donation forms are available at the Mayo Clinic Store, located on the first floor of the medical center, at the hospice office, 408 Fourth Ave. Northwest, or at one of the following locations:

•Austin main campus: 10 a.m. to noon, Nov. 6, 13, 20 and 27.

•Mayo Clinic Health System regional clinics.

•Austin Hy-Vee, 1001 18th Ave. Northwest: 4 to 6 p.m., Nov. 6, 13, 20 and 27.

All donations help support the Austin Hospice program. The funds will be used for the following items which include, but are not limited to, patient care items, family bereavement services and free public groups. For more information, call 507-434-1415.
