Area to receive almost $5,000 for emergency program

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has recommended almost $5,000 be awarded to Semcac in Mower County for emergency food and shelter for people in need.
A state set-aside committee recommended $4,911 for FEMA’s emergency food and shelter program in the area, which would be distributed by a board made up of the Salvation Army, Veterans Services, Austin and Mower County Housing and Redevelopment Authority, United Way, Semcac, Mower County Health and Human Services, local churches and other organizations.
