Jeanette M. Mullenmeister, 88

Jeanette M. Mullenmeister, 88, of Austin, Minn., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at Serenity Assisted Living in N. Scottsdale, Ariz.
Jeanette Marilyn Fritze was born July 27, 1925, in Claremont, Minn., to William and Margaret (Selthun) Fritze. She graduated from Owatonna High School. Jeanette was united in marriage to Harold H. Mullenmeister on July 18, 1955, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin. Jeanette worked at Austin State Bank, then later as a night receptionist at the Holiday Inn in Austin. Her other jobs included night registration at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin, a lunch aide at Banfield Elementary School, and a bookkeeper for Harold’s business, Bootery Boot and Shoe. Jeanette was a longtime member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin. She was admired for her delicious cooking and her strong willingness to help and serve others. At the center of her life was her family, and she took special joy in her travels with her sisters and her son John.
Jeanette is survived by her husband Harold Mullenmeister of Austin; sons Michael Mullenmeister, of Rochester, Minn. and his wife Pam; Thomas Mullenmeister of Sauk Rapids, Minn. and his friend, Debi Luzier; John Mullenmeister, of Austin; and William Mullenmeister, of Cave Creek, Ariz., and his wife Angie; six grandchildren, Mathew, Megan, Morgan, Billy, Eric and Mary; brother Merlin Fritze of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters Doris Lea of Blooming Prairie, Wilma Chappius of Owatonna, and Donna Grubish and her husband Wayne, also of Owatonna; brother-in-law Sheldon Peterson of Lake City, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Margaret Fritze and two sisters, Mildred Peterson and Arlene Utpadel; brothers-in-law Orville Utpadel, Dave Chappius, and Mike Lea; and sister-in-law Dorothy Mullenmeister.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin, with Pastor Karen Behling of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon prior to services at the funeral home.
