Football: Blossoms run strong to clinch a share of conference title

The Awesome Blossoms racked up 244 yards rushing as they locked up their a share of their ninth straight Gopher Valley A Conference title in Mankato Friday night.
Jake Decker scored four total touchdowns as Blooming Prairie’s football team won 48-7 over Mankato Loyola (0-6 overall, 0-4 Gopher).
“We kind of used the conference title as motivation tonight,” BP head coach Chad Gimbel said. “But that’s not all we’re playing for. We still want to keep improving.”
Decker ran for 125 yards and BP (5-0 overall, 4-0 Gopher), which is normally a pass-happy team, threw just seven times in the win.
“It was windy out, but the running game was working for us so we stuck with it,” Gimbel said.
Cole Sunde ran an interception back 68 yards for a score in the win for BP.
