Benefit shoot will support AHS trapshooting team

The Austin High School trapshooting team will hold a clay target benefit shoot this Saturday, Oct. 12, north of Austin.
The shoot, at Cedar Valley Conservation Club, 25026 Highway 218 N, begins at 9 a.m. However, a breakfast for $5 will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., and a $5 lunch will be served from noon to 2 p.m.
Shooting costs $15 for each event or $50 for all four. All youth 17 and younger shoot for half price. Practice rounds are available for $6 each; shells are available for $7 per box.
There will be four divisions in the competition: adult, ladies, junior (ages 14-17) and sub junior (12-14). Events include 16-yard trap, 25-yard trap, skeet and sporting clays. More than $2,000 in prizes are available, and the top three in each division will receive trophies.
