The Austin Public Schools board will take a look at its 2014 integration budget this Monday.

The board will likely approve a $680,000 integration programs budget at its monthly public meeting 5:30 p.m. Monday inside the city council chambers. The budget predominantly pays for the district’s success coaches, which help students of color, new students to the district and others to succeed in class. The integration also goes to various programs and events to bring students together and learn about different cultures and topics throughout the year.

Board members will also discuss a new dress code at Austin High School.

AHS Principal Brad Bergstrom said the high school is updating its dress code to cut out irrelevant information and to simplify expectations. Among the changes to the dress code is a new rule mandating students cover themselves from armpit to mid-thigh, which Bergstrom said was part of the new expectations developed by students and staff.
