The Mower County Historical Society invites the public to bring a lunch this Thursday, for the final installment of the 2013 Lunchbox History Series.
At noon, Hormel Foods archivist Charity Lifka will discuss the contributions of Hormel Foods during World War II. Guests will learn about the role of the company with its employees and the Austin community, as well as changes in the Hormel workforce and how the war shaped the company’s future.
The Lunchbox History Series will return on the fourth Thursday of April in 2014. People may bring their own lunches and enjoy a presentation on various history subjects. The programs are free, but donations are appreciated.
