LESTER PRAIRIE — The Blooming Prairie football team picked up a big win when it beat Lester Prairie-Holy Trinity (1-2 overall, 1-1 Gopher) 30-15 on the road Friday.
BP quarterback John Rumpza was 24-for-29 as he threw for 325 yards, four touchdowns and one interception and BP junior Tristan Haberman had 88 receiving yards and two TDs.
BP’s Jake Decker had 123 yards of offense and two TDs.
The No. 10 ranked Awesome Blossoms (3-0 overall, 2-0 Gopher) lost to LP-HT last year, but now they are in first place in the Gopher Conference by themselves with a win this year.
“They kind of took it to us last year and it felt god to come back and beat them tonight,” BP head coach Chad Gimbel said.
BP held LP-HT’s explosive rushing attack to 136 yards, but the Blossoms allowed 238 passing yards.
“They had a receiver who made some unbelievable catches,” Gimbel said. “He was a highlight reel.”
