The Austin Area Chamber of Commerce and Vision 2020 are warning Austin residents of a telephone scammer.

A person calling herself “Megan McBride” has reportedly called area business and claimed to be involved with the community betterment group Vision 2020.

“We advise you to be aware of this person, as we do not know her intent,” the alert said. “She is in no way affiliated with Vision 2020 nor with the city of Austin.”
