Austin 4-H’er is runner up for Poultry Prince

Tyler Amick of Austin was a runner up at this year’s Poultry Prince event at the Minnesota State Fair.

The 2013 Poultry Prince and Princess were named Sunday afternoon during the final Q&A round at the fair. Alex Oelke of Otsego and Kristina Allen of Rochester were crowned as the winners.

Amick shows chickens at the Mower County Fair every year, is vice president of his 4-H club, a county ambassador, vice president of the Mower County Advisory Board, a Minnesota 4-H state ambassador and a regional camp counselor at Camp Patterson. He would like to pursue a degree in history and education as well as a doctorate’s in history to teach at the collegiate level.
