Austin Utilities and local emergency crews will join forces this Wednesday for a large-scale disaster training effort at Utilities Energy Park.

The gates will open at the park at 7:30 a.m., and there will be a VIP section for spectators. The exercise will begin 8 a.m. at 1908 14th St. NE. Austin Utilities will team up with the Austin Police Department, Austin Fire Department, Mower County Sheriff’s Office and Gold Cross to see how efficiently they can respond to the undisclosed scenario. Continual updates will be broadcast over radio frequencies to remind those listening that the disaster scenario is only a training exercise.
