Entertainment already booked for next year
The Austin Community Alliance will continue Tuesdays on Main events for the rest of the year and is already planning events for next year, despite needing $5,700 in donations to pay incoming debts.
ACA president Kiersten Hall said last week the group had accepted several donations since she announced the group would shut down Tuesdays on Main and needed for more community support two weeks ago.
“Don’t expect anything to come to an end,” Hall said.
Hall canceled Tuesdays on Main last week due to threatening weather in the region, but she said the event will still take place July 2, featuring the Annie Mack Blues. Hall has already booked two bands for next year’s Tuesdays on Main events, as well.
“It’s a growing process,” she said. “As I’m putting this together, and keeping it together, I’m learning more about what is available out there financially. I honestly thought that this would be better internally supported.”
Hall is looking for grants from area foundations and said she would seek Legacy Amendment funding to keep the public event going.
