The Freeborn-Mower Chapter of the American Red Cross announced this year’s winners of the chapter’s prestigious awards presented Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the annual meeting.

Sixty-five volunteers were in attendance and celebrated as Cathy Porter won Board Member of the Year, Harry Hansen earned Volunteer of the Year, Danny Lee won of the Eileen Nierengarten Volunteer Achievement Award and Vince Lynch became the first recipient of the new Jim Grunewald Disaster Volunteer award.

More than 390 volunteers chose to be a part of the Freeborn — Mower Red Cross in 2012.
