Continuing a summer tradition, The Hormel Institute will offer a free open house to the public from 4 to 6 p.m. the last Thursday of every month this summer.
Visitors will learn about The Hormel Institute’s history and latest developments. Other aspects of the tour include a 3-D imaging demonstration and viewing of IBM supercomputers.
The Institute has plans for a $27 million expansion in 2014, which will add more laboratories and space to the building and is estimated to create 125 jobs.
“We look forward to hosting new and returning friends to The Hormel Institute through these events,” Executive Director Dr. Zigang Dong said. “It is just one of the ways we can show our deep appreciation for the tremendous support we receive from the community.”
The open house dates are set for June 28, July 25 and Aug. 29.
