Hormel Foods Corp. and Walmart have teamed up again.

In conjunction with the Walmart annual shareholders meeting this year, the Hormel Cure 81 ham brand celebrated its 50th anniversary with a dedicated window display at the historic Walton’s 5&10 at the Walmart Visitor Center Museum in Bentonville, Ark.

The brand also hosted a “Paint the Pig” event as part of the First Friday experience on the Bentonville Square to kick off the local arts celebration month. The donation of the fiberglass pig, Pricilla, invited children to paint the pig using their hand prints. It will remain on display at the Visitor Center Museum.

The window display reflects back on the heritage of the Cure 81 brand and includes archived photos and advertisements, highlighting the historical significance and the unique legacy within the real, functioning storefront. The Cure 81 brand will be displayed at the Visitor Center Museum through June 26.

“It’s great to see the Cure 81 brand have 50 years of heritage displayed in the window of the 5&10 Store,” said Pat Lipinski, product manager for the Cure 81 ham brand. “We are excited to share the legacy with the Walmart and Bentonville community, and are honored to be included as part of their annual meeting.”

In conjunction with the annual Walmart Shareholders’ Meeting on June 7, the Hormel Cure 81 ham brand joined new Hormel Foods’ brands Skippy peanut butter and REV wraps to provide samples for the community and visiting shareholders.

This year marks the second consecutive year that a Hormel brand has been featured in the 5&10’s main display window. Last year, the 75th anniversary of the Spam brand took center stage, complementary to the celebration of Walmart’s 50th anniversary.
