Stephen Wayne Hansen, age 65 of Austin, Minn., died Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Wabasso, Minn.

Stephen was born April 9, 1948, in Austin, Minn., to Harry and Lucille (Dietrich) Hansen. Stephen grew up in Austin, graduating from Austin High School in 1966, and then attended St. Cloud State University.  He worked for Mower County in building maintenance.

Survivors include two daughters: Nicole Knutson and Jessica Kosmosky, both of Lacrosse, Wis; three grandchildren: Bryant, Kaelee, and Olivia; one sister: Ellen (Bob) Cox of Rochester, Minn.; his nephews Joel Cox and Christian Cox; his niece Amy (Sean) O’Hara; his best friend Jerry Ames.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Lucille Hansen and his nephew David Cox.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Rev. Dr. Steve DeFor officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Alden Community Cemetery, Alden, Minn. The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Mower County Humane Society. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
