Eight Austin elementary school students took part in the South Central/Southwest Minnesota Regional Science and Engineering Fair.

Fifth-grader Noah Wollersheim and third-grader Emily Folsum each earned second place in their categories and received a silver medal along with an Amazon gift card.

Other participants included fifth-graders Sophia Kvam, Kaityln Goligowski, Madison Herrick, Chloey Camerer, Cheyenne Mensch and Madison Bartlett.
