Austin woman serving on Zonta board

Cheryl Retterath is dedicated to supporting and helping women through Zonta, and in the past year, she has done even more.

Retterath was nominated and has now served one year on the District 7 Board of Zonta International. As Area 3 director, she assists Zonta clubs in Austin, Brainerd, Mankato, Minneapolis, St. Cloud and St. Paul.

Cheryl will administer the affairs of her six clubs and report to the district governor. District 7 comprises clubs from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas and Missouri. Retterath will be a voting member on the district board considering issues and affairs within her district. Her term is two years.

Founded in 1919, Zonta International is a global organization of executives and professionals with more than 30,000 members of 1,200 clubs in 63 countries working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy.

Retterath, branch manager of Sterling State Bank in Lyle, joined Zonta Club in May 1998 and has held many offices within the club.

She has been involved with the Mower County Relay for Life since 1992 currently serving as the team recruiter. She has a passion for helping people and loves spending time with her family, including her husband Alan, two sons, daughter-in-law and five grandchildren.
