Jesse Woodrow Ronne, age 94, of Grand Meadow, Minn., passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Grand Meadow Care Center in Grand Meadow.

Jesse was born on Oct. 24, 1918, in Blue Earth County to George E. and Addie Belle (Jacobs) Ronne. He attended Rush Lake Country School through the eighth grade, and then helped his parents on the farm.

On Aug. 29, 1940, Jesse married Helen Kindler, in Mankato, Minn. They moved to their present farm in the spring of 1941. Jesse loved cattle and the horses he grew up with. He felt life on the farm was the greatest place to be.

In the year 2000, Jesse and Helen moved into Meadows Assisted Living.  Jesse loved playing his button box and accordion. He was a member of several neighborhood musical groups, and in later years played at the cancer telethon. Music was always a big part of Jesse’s life.

Jesse also enjoyed spending his time playing croquet and cards.  Jesse and Helen enjoyed traveling, and took many trips together.

Left to mourn and forever miss him are his son: Wayne of Grand Meadow, Minn.; daughter: Rebecca “Becky” (Jim) Bissen of of Rose Creek, Minn.; eight grandchildren: Amy (Greg) Roberts, Tricia Branden, Andy Bissen, Brian (Katie) Bissen, Valerie (Shane) Seiferman, Darin Ronne, Jennifer (Jake Cardinal) Ronne, and Ashley (Jesse Antiporek) Ronne; four great grandchildren: Colin and Caitlin Roberts, Max and Lily Bissen, and his truest and most loyal friend, Roger Julson, they were side by side for 62 years. His is also survived by his sister, Doris Ronne nephews, Bruce (Sherri) Dowlin, and Mark (Nardi) Lehnert, and a niece, Marilyn Lehnert.

Preceding Jesse in death are his parents, wife, Helen in 2007, son, Gary, and his granddaughter, Annette Bissen, his brothers, Gene (Clara) Ronne and Floyd “Mac” (Grace) Ronne, and sisters, Ella (Louis) Johnson, Clarabelle (Lester) Pischner, and Clare Dowlin, Ardis Ronne, and one brother-in-law, Owen Jones, nephew, Robert Dowlin, and niece, Trudy Dowlin.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 8, at Grand Meadow Lutheran Church in Grand Meadow. Burial will be in Grand Meadow Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 7, 2013, from 4 until 7 p.m. at Hindt Funeral Home 104 Grand Ave. E, Grand Meadow, MN, and continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
