Harriet M. Peterson, 91, of Austin, Minn., died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie, Minn.

Harriet Marie Hedegard was born Aug. 14, 1921, in Dexter, Minn., the daughter of Victor C. and Marjorie M. (Ramer) Hedegard. She attended school in Mower County. On Oct. 26, 1944, she married Robert “Bob” Warren Peterson in Austin. The couple lived in Austin, where Harriet worked for Hormel Foods Corporation for more than 40 years.

Survivors include nieces and nephews Jon Torkelson of Austin, Janet Torkelson of Offalon, Mo., and Julie Torkelson. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her husband Robert Peterson and nephew James Torkelson.

A graveside memorial service will be held at noon Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin, with the Rev. Dr. Stephen DeFor officiating. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
