Curtis L. Leidal, 95

Curtis L. Leidal, 95, left this life to join his beloved Luella on April 3, 2013, at the Lutheran Retirement Home.
Curtis was born July 31, 1917, on a farm near London, Minn. The third child of Albert and Laura Leidal, he was baptized in the Deer Creek Valley Lutheran Church and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in July 1932. He attended rural Freeborn County School District Number 125, graduating from the eighth grade in 1932, and married Luella Holstad on Sept. 21, 1940.
Curtis worked as a farmer until 1966, then as an insurance agent. He graduated from Hamilton Business College and worked as Worth County treasurer, bookkeeper and agent for the Iowa Revenue Department. After retiring, Curtis and Luella enjoyed traveling and spending time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Curtis was preceded in death by his wife, Luella; daughters, LaVerne and Karen; parents; siblings, Anna, Clara, Glen, Quentin and Kermit. He is survived by three children and spouses: LeRoy and Lonna (Hoel) Leidal, Kathy and Tom Christianson, and Kevin and Becky (Schmitt) Leidal; son-in-law Ken Fredrickson; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, April 14, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Northwood with the Rev. Judy Converse officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood. Visitation will be Saturday April 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home in Northwood, www.schroederandsites.com.
