The Austin Area Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for Austin’s annual celebration of community and country, Freedom Fest, and looking for sponsors.

Freedom Fest provides family entertainment on and around the Fourth of July. Last year, between 35,000 and 45,000 people attended activities during the four-day festival, which brought $2.5 million to the local economy, according to the Chamber. The event helps fill hotel rooms and raise sales at retail and hospitality outlets.

Most events and activities, including the fireworks display, are free of charge to the public because local sponsors support them with financial donations. To become a sponsor, contact Sandy Forstner at 507-437-4561.
