Accentra Credit Union announced Mollie Mickelson of Austin has won a $500 scholarship from the Minnesota Family Involvement Council.
This year, the FIC offered $10,000 in college scholarships to Minnesota credit union members. Applicants were selected based on school and community involvement, and an essay explaining the best financial advice, or the hardest financial lesson learned, and how this impacted his or her life.
Mickelson wrote “…live within your means, save and invest monthly, and remember that it takes time to build wealth.”
“The Minnesota Family Involvement Council has supported the youth of Minnesota and their continuing educational dreams for many years,” said Paul Knorr, president/CEO at Accentra Credit Union. “We are honored to partner with them and join with them in celebrating the accomplishments of Molly Mickelson.”
Accentra serves residents of Freeborn, Mower, Olmsted and Winona Counties.
