Police encountered a strange situation Wednesday when a local man was waving a flower in the motion of a cross in the front yard of an Austin home.

According to the police report, the 36-year-old man entered a home in the 600 block of 10th Avenue when nobody was home, went back outside and began waving the flower. Police said the man yelled at a newspaper carrier and said she owed him money.

The homeowner arrived shortly after and reported no missing items from her home. Neither the homeowner nor carrier had ever seen the man, they said.

The suspect may be charged with trespassing. The police report did not offer any additional information regarding the man’s behavior.
