Laura Judd, 59, of Austin, Minn., passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 22, 2013.

Laura was born Feb. 1, 1954, in Austin to Howard and Rita McDermott. She was married to Gerard Judd in 1973 and they raised five children. Laura was a homemaker and ran a day care from her home. She was also an entrepreneur who owned three video stores. Her accomplishments included a return to college to earn a degree in computer art and animation.

Laura was preceded in death by her mother Rita McDermott and her daughter Vanessa Judd. She is survived by Gerard Judd Sr., her loving husband of 39 years; her children, Felicia Drake (Angelus), Gerard Judd Jr., Bryan Judd and Kendra Judd; father Howard McDermott; brother Rodney McDermott (Jean); and sister Anita McDermott; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and family.

A memorial service for Laura Judd will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin. Condolences may be left for the family at www.mayerfh.com.
