Schammel scores 34 as Rebel girls beat Lyle-Pacelli

ADAMS — The Southland girls basketball team put up a season-high point total and Jana Schammel set a new career-high in scoring as the Rebels beat Lyle-Pacelli 96-66 in a girls basketball game in Adams Thursday.

Schammel had 34 points to lead Southland (22-3 overall).

Sarah Holtz had 18 points for the Athletics (21-3 overall).

“We just turned the ball over and we looked like a bunch of young kids,” LP head coach Brad Walter said. “We were looking forward to the opportunity to going against one of the top ‘AA’ teams. We just couldn’t play to their level.”
